Plants fade with the season.
Made items fall into disuse and disrepair.
People grow old.
As things age, they take on a different sort of beauty that warrants consideration, encouraging us to consider the transient nature of existence.
All things, whether natural or man-made, have a life cycle; it turns out that there is no absolute permanence. After decades of observation, it has become clear to me that our culture is adept at celebrating the new, is comfortable with the familiar, but often finds the "end of life" difficult. Myself, I prefer to find peace with the inevitable.
All Things Come To An End
is a project about moments that might otherwise pass without notice. I would like to suggest to the viewer that the end of a life cycle is neither “good” nor “bad”, but something that simply “is”.
The exhibit ran from July 29, 2025 to September 25, 2025, in the Georgetown (TX) Public Library.
